I am a newcomer. I landed Canada with my family on the evening of May 27, 2010.
With the help of my friend ,we settled. We lived in my friend's house. Every day, she accompanied us to visite everywhere with driving her Honda Accord.
Three weeks later, My wife and son wanted to go back to Singapore. I had to stay in Canada. So I must find a new place to rent in Toronto .
Thanked to the Internet, I searched the Website and found a room on Cherokee Blvd.
I called the owner, and made an appointment. Our friend, my wife's classmate drove us to the house. The owner were very nice. They were also of Chinese descent.
They asked me to show my passport and Immgration paper. After they had a look, they said, "Ok, let's view your room. It's upstairs, Follow us. We climbed up to the second floor. It was a small bright and clean room with bed table,TV and Internet line. The window faces the south.T here was a big vegetable garden outside. We were north of Finch street. It was very convenient to ride the TTC bus.
Then they led us to the kitchen and told me where my closet was and how to place my food in the refrigerator.
Fortunately, they didn't have pets.
Later, we talked about the price and the contract. It went very smoothly.
I moved in soon after,a nd have been in Cherokee-Finch till now.
