Field Trip in the Redpath Musemu&Sugar Beach

At 9:30 am, Sept. 28, we set off from the Sheppard-Yonge Subway Station. Twelve of us get on the southbound train. Mr. Joseph was very happy although it was raining outside. He made a comical countenance in the train.

.

The samples of the Redpath's products. They were made shapes of bomb with sugar.
Zumurod studied hard. She took notes carefully.
If I don't tell you whom he was. Can you recognize him?

Took a picture with old machines

Liji was taking picture for her youngest sister.

The interpreter of the Redpath Musemu, Richard , is a kindness old man who is very
professional in instruction.

Sugar Beach with pink colour unbrellas.

Joseph was still  explaining the information about the Sugar Beach in rain.
You could get sugar smell in the beach.

Red luck overhead!

Under the heavy frog, the plazas far away looked like in the fairyland.

Grace was busy in taking pictures.

After the field trip, I walked to the St. Lawrence Market. There are cheap Seafood, Meat, Cheese, vegetable and fruit selling there.
It was unfortunate that when we went to field trip, it was raining. But more unfortunate, when we dismissed it stopped raining!

A Short Story about Chopsticks

About 3,000 years ago, during the Shang Dynasty in China, there was an emperor called Zhou. He was the  last emperor of the Shang.

Zhou became king when he was about 20 years old. He was the king for 29 years. In the first 20 years, he was a good emperor. He worked hard, and his ministers were kind and nice. The empire was very strong. People were rich and happy. But the last 9 years were the opposite!

Do you know when the Shang Dynasty began to decline? Or, what event destroyed the Dynasty?

It was a pair of chopsticks! The Shang Dynasy was damaged by a pair of chopstisks!

Can you believe it?

One day, an important minister, whose name was Bi Gan, suddenly found that the emperor Zhou change to using the Ivory chopsticks. He knew the emperor was used to using Bamboo chopsticks. He had used Bamboo chopsticks for nearly 40 years. Why did he change to using the Ivory?

Bi Gan’s heart was shaken! He felt something would happen.

Bi Gan, who was very clever with high IQ, talked to another minster who was also well known,
" Did you notice our boss changed to using the Ivory chopsticks? If he uses the Ivory chopsticks, can he eat nomal foods? He must eat the only delicious foods like abalone, lobster, bear paw, and sea cucumber, etc. If he begins to eat this kind of food, won't  he start to drink? If  he drinks, is it possible to have no singing and dancing? Is it possible that there will be no beautiful girls and toadies around him? If these kinds of people surround our king, who will manage our country? How unfortunate for our country! "

It happened just as Bi Gan said. A sprite of a fox, who turned into a pretty girl named Daji, became one of Zhou’s wifes. Not long after she became the Queen.

She did the worst things.

She always gave bad advices to Zhou and always offered new ideas to kill people and ministers.

Zhou drank and played with Daji every day. He did not take care of what happened outside the palace. In the end, people rebelled. He killed himself by fire. The Shang Dynasty was finished.

This short story tells us that tiny things may be lead to great disasters.

JOB FAIR___Field Trip Sept.14

Today is Tuesday, Sept. 14. It was sunny and cool with a gentle breeze. We would go to a job and career fair downtown on a field trip led by Teacher Joseph.

Joseph told us to meet in the Yonge-Sheppard subway station before 9:30am. I arrived there at 9 o'clock. While I was browsing the Metro newspaper, teacher Joseph came. As we were talking about the job fair, Selena, Zumurod,Irina and Agnes arrived. We waited until 9:40 for the other classmates before taking the southbound subway .

It was at St. Patrick Subway Station where we alighted from the train. Joseph led us to 23 Grange Road, where the University Settlement job fair was held.

The job fair was located in a basketball arena indoors. At the entrance, we registered and filled out the survey form. There were tables with cakes and juice. You could take them freely. There were many people inside who came early. So, it was very crowded. We had to line up at same booths. Too many positions and vacancies were available,  like computer engineer, electronic engineer, marketing and sales, etc. We talked  with  them, asked the recruiter for the information, browsed their brochures... At one end of the wall,  there was a row of tables against the wall. Some counselors were sitting there. They helped applicants prepare their resumes, advised them what kind of job they should apply for, and how to prepare for an interview.

Around 11:40, we finished and went to Chinatown and Kensington Market. Mr. Joseph led us to savour  the fare of old China and the Latin-American neighbourhood.

It was a good field trip and worth sacrificing my time!

Diabetes, which is one kind of modern disease, is a silent killer

Zhao Gang, the head of a bank in Harbin, China, is obesity. He is about 57-58 years old, but with nearly two decades of diabetic history.

He seldom does nice things to people. If he does something nice to someone, just like promoting someone or placing someone in an important position, he must first get a bribe. He is a real scandal.

He is obese, so he breathes heavily and hurriedly. He has severe case of diabetes. He injects insulin three times or more every day.

Additionaly,he has erectile dysfunction. He can't beef up. So nobody knows how many paramour his wife has made adultery with.
He can't see objects well because his eyes are damaged by diabetes. He nearly went blind several years ago.

He is a perfect scoundrel, rogue and a political hooligan.

I don't know if he is still alive now.
He should do some good things for others.

I  hear that TTC is hiring. They need  professional drivers.  The applicants must have  an AZ driver licence. It is the compulsory for  candidates to have that qualification. The job fair is busier than normal. Many applicants submitted their resumes and  waiting for the interview. It is worth the sacrifice!
